Welcome

We are proud to serve our community through custom slaughter as well as USDA inspected slaughter and processing. Our slaughter facility operates just outside of Sterling, Colorado. We harvest cattle only.  Below you will see our custom Beef Cut Sheet. Please refer to that for your order or call 970-521-0430 with any questions.

When picking up your processed beef or pork, please be sure to remember that at least 24 hours notice is required before the product may be picked up. 

Facility Information

  • Slaughter Location: 18501 County Road 27 Sterling, CO 80751​
  • USDA inspected facility. Facility has a HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) Plan that provides regulations for the humane handling of the animal as well as food safety. HACCP is monitored/enforced by the USDA inspector. Cryovac packaging with product name and weight on the label.

SLAUGHTER & PROCESSING FEES
 
Beef Slaughter Fee
$90.00 head
$100.00 head ~ Over 30 months

Beef Processing Fee HALF OR WHOLE BEEF
$1.05 lb. hanging weight
$1.15 lb. hanging weight carcasses under 500 lb.

SPLIT HALVES
$1.15 lb. hanging weight
$1.25 lb. hanging weight carcasses under 500 lb.

VALUE ADDED (PORTION CUTTING OR CHANGES MADE TO ORIGINAL CUT SHEET)
$1.15 lb. hanging weight
$1.25 lb. hanging weight carcasses under 500 lb.

FURTHER PROCESING FEES
Ground Beef Patties 1 # Packages ~ $1.50 lb.
Stew Meat over 5# per side ~ $1.00 lb.

DUMP FEE $30.00 head
Heifers or Cows that are bred will have an additional fee of $25.00.
 
¨ Organs that are not part of the hanging weight may incur an additional charge.
 
~We will not slaughter animals under 700# Live Weight.~
~ Will not slaughter animals with over 24 in (tip to tip) horn width span.~
 
We ask that cut sheets be turned in with cattle delivery or no later than 7 days after slaughter.
If cut sheets are not received in this time frame a standard cut will apply. 

If harvest cancellation is not made within 2 weeks of harvest date a $100 per head cancellation fee will apply.
Cutting instructions are due at delivery of cattle or within seven (7) days of slaughter. If instructions are not received by then, a standard cut will apply.

Payment and Pick-Up

Please expect three (3) week time frame for beef processing. Invoice will be collected at the time of pick-up. Mike's Meat Market will notify you when your meat is ready for pick-up. Meat storage fees will apply for product that is not picked up after one (1) week of initial contact. Storage fee is $5.00/day, payable to Mike's Meat Market. Meat will not be released until storage fees are paid. 
Cattle must be delivered with Brand inspection papers.
A $75.00 fee will be charged if no brand inspection is provided. Prices are subject to change.
Meat not picked up and paid for with in 6 months of slaughter date will be disposed of and collections will be notified.
